ABOUT US
We are a sustainable, fine wood products studio located in Yorktown, Virginia. We upcycle, reclaim and rescue wood to showcase its natural beauty. All of our products are truly one of a kind and unique. From barnboard to firewood to storm damaged trees, we showcase the natural elegance found in wood.
All of our wood products are natural. We use natural wax and shellac finishes on most of our products. Unless otherwise noted, no stain is used to color the wood. Some of our items are food safe and will be noted as such.

We particularly enjoy creating pieces with spalted wood. Spalting is a natural occurrence and results in spectacular coloration and patterns. Spalting occurs organically in both hardwoods and softwoods, with the signature black zone lines most often seen in hardwoods.

As our products are all natural, some changes in shape and tone may develop with differences in temperature and humidity. It is not unusual for larger, natural wood bowls to develop an oval shape as environmental changes affect the moisture content in the wood. Although we work to minimize the chances, your product may also develop cracks with age. Items with natural edges or intentionally highlighted flaws will be more susceptible to these. We do not view these as defects, rather as part of the natural beauty inherent in wood.

We strive to ensure we exceed your expectations. All items are described to the best of our ability; sizes are approximate. If we intentionally leave in place a "flaw", we will note as much in our description and photos. Items with multiple inclusions may not be shown in all photographs but will be noted in the description.
